I found out I was pregnant when I was 16 years old. I had been with a guy 5 years older than me for over a year when I found out. In my state, he would get in big trouble for having sex with me in the first place. My dad ordered me to have an abortion, and my boyfriend thought it was a good idea, too. We made an appointment to have my abortion. Abortion is a two day process (thank god) so we went to the first appointment. They explained everything to us, what would happen, how it would happen, etc. Both my boyfriend and I decided we could not do that to our little baby. We decided to keep the baby.

When I was about 6 months pregnant, he left me for another girl. I was devastated. I became extremely depressed. Nonetheless, I still wanted to keep the baby. I have never made a better decision in my entire life. I am now 17 and my beautiful daughter is 6 months old, and I love her more than I have ever loved anything in my entire life. She saved my life. I used to party nonstop and was heavily involved with drugs and alcohol. Without her, who knows where I would be. Her dad still isn't really involved, and that doesn't bother me either. I don't find it difficult to find new guys even though I have a kid. Sometimes people look down on me for it, but if anything, I think this makes me a much stronger person. People can give me all the dirty looks they want. I love my daughter so much that it doesn't matter to me. I am happy with myself and the decision I made. Any girl that is pregnant I would really recommend not having an abortion. If you don't think you can raise a baby, then there's always adoption. Things are very difficult now, but I know things will work out. My life isn't over, it's just beginning. And I couldn't be happier.
