I will always remember that day coming home from school my sophomore year. I had called my mom to pick me up from school at lunch because I had felt very sick. I never really thought anything of it until it was a daily thing. My period was never regular so it's not like I thought I was pregnant. But for some reason something told me to take a test to be sure.

My boyfriend and I never really used condoms but nothing ever happened for a year so I just figured nothing was ever going to happen. It ended up being I was pregnant!!! I remember calling my boyfriend to tell him and right away him mentioning abortion. I never thought that I would have considered it but that day, I was. For months and months I kept it from everyone. I wanted to tell my mom sooo... bad but how do you bring up that kind of conversation? I held off, too scared to tell her. Until one day I came home from school and my mom just straight up asked me if I was pregnant. I started to cry and then she knew. She was so understanding. That night I had to tell my dad and that was scary, but he too, was understanding.

At 6 months I finally started going to the doctors. My boyfriend and I were growing apart; he was always too busy for me. He was mad that I was going to have the baby. Around my due date or so Daniel (my boyfriend) was finally realizing that he was going to be a dad and needed to be there for me. The day I went into labor Daniel started to cry and apologized to me for never being there for me when I needed him. From then on he has always been there for our son Jacob Daniel. Being 17 and having a 6-month-old son has been tough, but the toughness has been worth it.
