I am 16 years old and I found out I was pregnant on September 4, 2003. I am a junior in high school and, of course, thought I could never get pregnant. I am in the Spanish Club and SADD Club and I make all A’s and B’s. How could it happen to me? I had my life-time goals set ahead of me already. I wanted to be a dentist and live life to the fullest. I was happy at first when I found out, but it dawned on me that my parents would KILL me! I told my dad first since he is the laid back one and he was so disappointed. I could see the pain in his eyes. When he told my mom, she wouldn’t believe it. She kept telling me I wasn’t going to go through with it, and she was going to make me have an abortion. After going through a whole lot of websites I found out it was illegal to be forced to have an abortion.

The first 3 days after I told my parents were living hell! My mom looked at me with such cold eyes and told me I was ruining my life. It's really hard to have hope without support from your parents. My boyfriend is so supportive and we have been together for almost a year. The baby is due in June 2004, and I can’t wait to meet him. I almost lost hope because my mom is so unsupportive, but then I came to this website and hope was there for me. I really appreciate everyone’s stories. They made me realize that I can still complete my goals. It’s just going to be harder. I tell myself everyday that God isn't going to give me anything I can't handle.
