Hello my name is Lacy. I found out that I was pregnant when I was 7 weeks. I found out where I work, because I thought that I had the flu. The day that I found out, it took my taking 2 tests at work and going to Planned Parenthood for the last one. I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the store bought tests. Well, as is turns out they were right. Planned Parenthood confirmed it.

The instant that I found out that I was pregnant I started crying so hard that I was on my knees. I was so scared the first thing that I did was call my mom. She lives in another state so I knew that she couldn’t kill me. All went ok with her, I guess. Her first reaction was for me to have an abortion. I told her no that I could never do that because my mother had to have one when she was 14, and I saw what it did to her, so that never crossed my mind.

The next thing that I did was call my dad. My dad is one of those really protective types that you would think would hate you and scream and call you names. So when I called him that very day that I found out he was really understanding and he never raised his voice not one time. I was so surprised. So all of you that think that your parents will not understand, they will I promise you. Some might take longer than others, but when you have that baby, all of their anger will go away.

I am now 5 months pregnant and my parents are going to get a double whammy because my sister in law is due in December. Finding out that you are pregnant may seem like the end of the world, but I promise you there are much worse things that could happen to you. Please reconsider if you are thinking about having an abortion. The first time you see your baby on the screen you will change your mind. Oh, and as for my dad, the one that I was so scared to tell… Well, he is the one that is so excited more than I am.
