My name is Kristin I am a sophomore in high school and I recently met a girl who would change my life forever. Her name was Jas and she was in my Advanced Algebra class. She sat in the back of the room and never said much of anything. There were only four girls in this class so I decided to introduce myself. We became friends, not best friends, but we talked during class everyday.

About two months into the year, I noticed that she was beginning to get a little bigger. She never even had to tell me that she was pregnant, she knew that I knew. Not a thing changed between us except for the fact that I became increasingly amazed by her. Four months later and being nine months pregnant didn’t stop her one bit. She was at school everyday, made the top grades in all of her classes and was staying in shape. During winter break, Jas gave birth to a healthy baby girl on December 31. She and her daughter are doing fine and Jas is now being home-schooled so that she can be there for her child. She was an inspiration to me, and her daughter is very lucky to have such a strong mother.
