My name is Cassandra. I am probably a little older than most that look at this web site, but I would like to share my story. It started when I had just turned 18. I had not had a period in 2 months. I called my then ex-boyfriend and told him I was late. We went and got a pregnancy test. It turned out to be positive. I was so scared; I had no money, job, or car, and still living with my parents.

After many tears at my friend’s house I went home to tell my parents. My mom cried and my dad just told me to call the abortion clinic in the morning and that he would pay for everything. I thought about it long and hard and realized I could not do it. Seven months later, I had a beautiful 9 pound 8 ounce little girl. I worked and supported her and myself for a year with no child support. Then I met the most wonderful man and got married. It has now been 7 years since the day I found out I was pregnant with her. I have a wonderful husband, 2 younger daughters, and one on the way. My point to this story is that no matter how hopeless you feel, don't give up, or give in to what someone else thinks you should do. Know that you can take care of yourself and a baby even if you start with nothing like I did.
