I was 16 when I found out. I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant. I had my whole life ahead of me and didn't want anything "holding" me down. I went to the hospital with really bad stomach cramps, thinking it was nothing more then a kidney infection (boy, was I wrong). The doctor told me that my pregnancy test came back positive. I flipped out and started crying thinking about what my family and friends would think of me. A lot of things were going through my mind, because not only did the doctor say that I was pregnant, but there was a chance I would have to have surgery. My mom was there with me, and I always hated watching my mom cry and she did nothing but cry.

I thought of abortion, and would have gone through with it if it wasn't for my older brother talking with me. I told the father and he was upset. He told me to abort the baby or just "get rid of it". Of course, like every teen mother to be, I was scared of being alone. But I decided to keep my baby and hope for the best. I am now 17, my baby’s father and I are still together, but I would do it alone anyways. I now have a beautiful 6-week-old baby girl, who makes my life so much better. Waking up in the mornings is hard. The crying, because she is sick, is even harder, but I wouldn't change a thing. I just hope everyone stops to think about what they are doing before they decide anything. I do not believe in abortions, and can't believe it even went through my mind, but it did. Please let your child have a life, as I did, with mine.
